Athletes ready to test their skills

While nearly 8 million students compete in high school athletics each year, only a small percentage of them continue their sports career in college.

According to data in the latest NCAA Sports Sponsorship and Participation Rates Report, the number of athletes on college rosters is around 520,000. That means less than 7 percent of high school athletes make the leap to college competition.

Each spring, the North Haven High School Athletics Department shines a light on those Nighthawks who plan to test their skills at the next level. NHHS's 2023 Collegiate Athletics Recognition Ceremony was held June 1 at the Patricia K. Brozek Theater.
