Former D-1 player will lead NHHS boys basketball program

The North Haven High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Dan Oglesby as the new head coach of the North Haven High School boys basketball program.

Oglesby comes to North Haven after serving as an assistant at Hamden Hall for seven years. During his time there, Hamden Hall won a Class B New England championship, had its best record in school history, claimed back-to-back Fairchester League championships and had several players earn college scholarships.

Oglesby played high school basketball at Hamden Hall, where he won four Class D New England championships, and became the state's all time leading prep scorer. He earned a scholarship to the University of South Florida, and later transferred to Fairfield University, where he finished his playing career.

Oglesby graduated from Fairfield with a bachelor's degree in sociology. He also has a master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism.

NHHS athletic director Steve Blumenthal stated, “Coach Oglesby brings an enthusiasm and knowledge about coaching and basketball that will bring the boys basketball program to the next level. We are very much looking forward to having Coach Oglesby and his staff get started with the team. He will do great things here at North Haven.”
