North Haven police officers participated in No-Shave November, and as of Dec. 1, had raised $6,280 for the Connecticut Cancer Foundation’s Patient Assistance Program.
”Thank you to all the officers who participated in No Shave CT 2021 and all those who donated and supported us,” the NHFD wrote in a Facebook post. “Our goal of raising $5,000 has been met … You can still donate to this great cause!”
The Connecticut Cancer Foundation’s Patient Assistance Program provides help to patients in support of their basic needs: rent/mortgage, utilities and food.
The NHPD’s No-Shave November fundraising page can be accessed via the department’s Facebook page.
The nonprofit organization No-Shave November was launched in 2009 as a way to raise awareness and funding for cancer prevention, education and research.
The website no-shave.org encourages people to participate “by growing a beard, cultivating a mustache, letting those legs go natural, and skipping that waxing appointment. Put down your razor and set up your own personal No-Shave November fundraising page. If you’re not ready to get hairy, sit back and support someone who is.”
