Free summer meals are back

The Plainville Community Schools Dining Services Department is once again offering a summer meals program for families. The program runs through Aug. 4.

Breakfast is available Monday through Thursday, 8:45 to 9:15 a.m., at Linden Street School; and from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. at Plainville High School. Lunch is available Monday through Thursday, 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., at Linden Street School, and from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Plainville High School.

Residents 18 years of age and younger are eligible for one breakfast and one lunch per day. Meals must be consumed on site.

“I would encourage all families to take advantage of the summer meal program,” food services director Ashley Carl said.

“Some may think that if they participate, they are taking meals away from others who are more in need. However, the opposite is true. This program helps our community and school district as a whole when everyone participates.”
