In late August, TriCircle, Inc., a Middlefield-based nonprofit that provides resources for individuals and families affected by substance use, invited the public to view a memorial quilt displayed at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. The quilt is part of a statewide Remembrance Quilt Initiative, launched in 2017 to honor loved ones who have died from a substance use disorder, coordinated by the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services with resources provided through Connecticut Clearinghouse in Plainville. The TriCircle quilt was scheduled to be displayed at the 4th Annual International Overdose Awareness Day Vigil Monday on the steps of the State Capitol building in Hartford.
