PHS senior earns his Eagle Scout badge

Thomas Solomon, a senior at Plainville High School, received his Eagle Scout badge on Saturday, Jan. 25 during a Court of Honor ceremony at Plainville United Methodist Church.

Solomon’s Eagle Scout project involved building shelving units for the Queen Ann Nzinga Center in New Britain and re-organizing the center’s storage area, making it more efficient.

Queen Ann Nzinga Center director Dayna Snell said the improvements were needed to make QANC activities run more efficiently.

Along with family, friends, scout leaders and members of Troop 76, attendees at the Court of Honor included Board of Education member Foster White, Town Council member Jessie Gnazzo, state Rep. Dr. William Petit Jr. and U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes.
