MSP club honors 1st responders

The Middle School of Plainville’s First Responder’s Fan Club, led by advisor and faculty member Christina Corvello, sponsored several support projects for first responders recently.

First, club members made a digital slideshow of support for the radiology nurses at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in Southington. Club member Juliana Radziewicz’s mother is a radiology nurse at the hospital and club members wanted to support her and her co-workers by sending them the digital slideshow, pizza and grinders.

In addition, the First Responder’s Fan Club made a digital slideshow of support for Army Sergeant Major Houle and his guard force. SGM Houle is a Connecticut National Guard member who has been stationed in Cuba since January.

Prior to the pandemic, the club members sent many letters and packages to Houle and the guard force. To go along with the digital slideshow, the group also arranged for a pizza delivery for the guard force members.

As a thank-you, the First Responder's Fan Club received an American flag that had been flown over the Cuban military base, a special Pentagon coin and a certificate from the guard force group.
