PLAINVILLE — A man faces charges after police said he logged onto a woman’s social media account and sent a sexually explicit video of her to several other people.

Joshua Jackson, 32, of 147 Milford St., Ext., Plainville, was arrested on Saturday and charged with third-degree computer crime, disseminating voyeuristic material, violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct.

On Saturday a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jackson, accessed her Snapchat account and sent an explicit sexual video of her to an unknown number of contacts, according to police reports.

Officers investigating noted the video was of the woman and obtained IP address information for her account. Police determined her account was accessed by Jackson. In an interview, Jackson admitted sending the video to two or three contacts. Jackson told police he was intoxicated when he sent the video and that he was getting “some frustration out,” the report noted.

Police noted there was a standing criminal protective order against Jackson with the woman as the protected person.

Jackson was arraigned in New Britain Superior Court. Bond was set at $50,000 and the case was continued to Oct. 22.
