SOUTHINGTON — The former North Star Drive home of sports and political commentator Keith Olbermann is on the market for $524,900.
The 4,100 square-foot house has a large pool, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and a sweeping view from the backyard.
The house was custom-built in 1986. Century 21 agent Robert Perriello said the owners have taken “tremendous care and pride” in updating the house with features including new kitchen appliances and granite countertops.
Both the upstairs and the downstairs have built-in gas fireplaces. All four bedrooms are upstairs, including a master bedroom with double closets and a master bathroom.
The basement is partially finished and could provide additional living, office or family room space, according to Perriello.
The fenced-in pool area has a paver patio and hot tub.
The property is just under one acre.
Olbermann co-hosted ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1992 until 1997, the same years he owned the North Star Drive house according to town records. He bought it for $351,000 and sold it to the current owners for $310,000 five years later.
Last year, Olbermann returned to SportsCenter. ESPN is located in Bristol, just north of the Southington town line.
