SOUTHINGTON — A New Britain resident has been charged with manslaughter in a March crash on Andrews Street that left two passengers in her vehicle dead.
According to police, Gabriella Correa, 22, of New Britain, was driving a Honda CR-V on March 14 when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line at around 8:44 p.m. and struck the guardrail and several large rocks. Two rear seat passengers — Kii Glover, 21 and Kaivon Glover, 22, both of New Britain — were pronounced dead at the scene, while Correa and the front seat passenger Mollina Colon, 22, were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
Correa was charged Dec. 15 with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of less than a half ounce of cannabis, reckless driving, traveling too fast for road conditions and failure to drive in the proper lane.
The Honda was traveling northeast toward New Britain on Andrews Street when it crashed as the road curved between Long Bottom Road and Caretaker Road.
