SOUTHINGTON — In an effort to increase her exposure and work with other health professionals, Christine Thorn has moved her at-home business, Dr. Christine M Thorn LLC, to an office building on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.

Thorn, who practices reflexology, acupuncture and reiki, is also a chiropractor and a KonMari consultant.

“I’ve been in this practice for about 30 years,” Thorn said. “I actually knew I wanted to be a chiropractor ever since I was a very young girl because I come from a family of chiropractors.”

Thorn, who worked alongside a family member in a home office, decided to move her business to 1090 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in the Plantsville section after the family member decided to retire.

“I decided to, for once, establish a practice on my own,” said Thorn.

Thorn talked with Craig Zettergren, owner and physical therapist at Southington Fyzical Therapy and Balance Center, about moving to his building.

Zettergren was looking to rent extra space to another health provider.

“We had the extra room... Some people have knocked on the door, but we really wanted to get the right person,” Zettergren said. “… The fact that she’s a chiropractor, but she does a lot of alternative activities with Reiki and acupuncture and reflexology. We really wanted a health provider in there that wasn’t doing the same kind of stuff.”

Thorn is happy to be working in the same building as other professionals.

“It is more exposure...being in a professional building versus a home office...there is more exposure just simply by being with other professionals,” she said. “... It’s a health community so it is nice to have exposure in that way. The building is a beautiful updated building. My patients have easy access, adequate parking, handicap accessibility.”

Zettergren also believes being in a building full of health professionals is important.

“The fact that we get to work together, we get to promote together,” Zettergren said. “...  sending out the information to all of our client lists, as well as their client list. It’s just a great situation. Everyone is going to be rewarded for it.”

Thorn is hoping the office will expose more people to her services.

“...I (also) do professional organizing,” Thorn said. “I really help people with their body, mind, spirit and home. Having a nice, organized home also creates greater health so it is the full spectrum.”
