Tractor-trailer fire at Southington truck stop

SOUTHINGTON — Emergency crews extinguished a tractor-trailer fire at the truck stop on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike Thursday morning. 

There were no injuries reported.

The fire started in the engine compartment and extended to the cab, said Battalion Chief Eric Heath. It was extinguished about 7:45 a.m. 

The incident at 1875 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike was reported around 7:30 a.m.
