Plainville man seriously injured in Southington motorcycle crash

SOUTHINGTON — A Plainville man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Queen Street early Saturday morning. 

Police say the crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. near Cumberland Farms, 909 Queen St.

According to police, John Reardon, 31, of 28 Bel Aire Drive, Plainville, was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north on Queen Street.

The motorcycle was struck by a 2013 Toyota Venza traveling south. The driver of the Toyota, Derek Pomarico, 21, of 2633 South Road, Poughkeepsie, New York was attempting to make a left hand turn into the Cumberland Farms when the crash occurred.

Reardon was taken by ambulance to The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus, and was listed in critical condition, according to police. Pomarico did not appear to be injured and declined medical attention.
