Suspect sought in string of robberies in Meriden, Wallingford, Southington

Police in Meriden, Wallingford and Southington are looking for a man suspected in knife-point robberies in all three towns.

The three departments are working together to investigate a “string of armed robberies” over the last two months.

In each incident, the suspect has displayed a knife and taken money from the cash register, Meriden Police Sgt. Michael Boothroyd said in a statement Wednesday. In Wallingford, the man is a suspect in two incidents. The first incident occurred on Oct. 4 at 305 Main St. and the second was on Oct. 10 at 1195 N. Colony Road, police said.

No injuries have been reported in any of the incidents, Boothroyd said.

The suspect has a distinctive tattoo on his left hand. Police released an image of a man they said is a person of interest in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jon Femia at the Meriden Police Department, 203-630-6219.
