Residential fire on Darling St. in Southington under investigation



SOUTHINGTON — A fire on Darling St. in Southington called in by a neighbor on Tuesday afternoon has officials investigating.

On Tuesday, at around 2:30 p.m., the Southington Fire Department was dispatched to 95 Darling St. for a report of large amounts of smoke coming from a home, according to a report

Cars 1, 2, 3, and 4, along with Squad 5, Engine 31, and Ladder 1, responded to the scene.

Mutual aid units from Meriden and Bristol came to the scene, along with New Britain, Plainville, and Cheshire, assisting with town coverage.

When units arrived on Darling Street, they conducted suppression, ventilation, rapid intervention standby, and overhaul operations.

Southington’s department, along with Meriden and Bristol departments, worked together to put out the fire.

The fire remains under investigation by the local Fire Marshal’s Office, Southington Police Department, and the state Fire and Explosive Investigation Unit.
