Motorist pulled from scene of rollover crash, car fire in Southington by good Samaritan



SOUTHINGTON — One person was pulled from a burning car by a good Samaritan after the vehicle crashed late Thursday afternoon.

The accident was reported about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Curtiss Street and Lazy Lane. Fire officials said one person was briefly trapped in the burning car.

The person was pulled from the car by a good Samaritan, and was conscious when taken to Hartford Hospital, fire officials said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.

The fire was extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived.

A section of the road was closed between West Street and Melcon Drive and reopened about 5:30 p.m.
