SOUTHINGTON — Police arrested a 24-year-old Bristol man wanted on narcotics and weapons charges late Thursday morning after a foot chase near Country Club Road.
The incident began when police received a call from bail enforcement agents who were following Dajauhn Correa, 24, of Bristol, in a vehicle. The agents pursued Correa to Meriden Waterbury Road, where Correa jumped out of a car and ran away.
Police K9s tracked down Correa more than a mile away, near Country Club Circle in Plantsville. Cheshire police assisted in the search.
Officers took Correa into custody without incident, police said. Along with the outstanding warrants, he faces new charges of interfering with an officer, breach of peace and trespassing. He was released on $10,000 bond.
Correa, who is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 16, faces multiple charges stemming from prior warrants issued by police in several municipalities, including Meriden, Wallingford, Bristol and Watertown.
Those charges include possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a pistol without a permit, police said.
