SOUTHINGTON — A crash Sunday night involving a police SUV and a parked car sent two people to the hospital.

Police Lt. Stephen Elliott said the marked police vehicle hit a parked car just before 9 p.m. on Lazy Lane. He didn’t have details about how the car was parked and said police are investigating the crash.

The accident happened at 438 Lazy Lane. The police station is at the other end of Lazy Lane, closer to Queen Street.

The parked car had two people inside.

“Both people chose to go the hospital,” Elliott said.

Both vehicles were also towed, he said.

Salvatrice Manuele, a Lazy Lane resident who lives two doors up from the accident, said the parked car was pushed across the lane after being struck. She feels  police often drive very fast up and down the road.

“It’s just a matter of time before a person is hit on this road,” Manuele said Monday.

She hoped speed bumps would be installed to prevent speeding.
