SOUTHINGTON — Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a local gas station earlier this week.

Police were notified on Monday about the incident, which happened on Sunday just before 10 p.m at the Gasman, 570 Main St., Lt. Stephen Elliott, police spokesman, said. A clerk reported a man came into the business just as it was closing and displayed a handgun.

The man knocked the clerk to the ground and took about $200, Elliott noted. The clerk did not report being injured. Police investigating the incident believe it may be connected to other reported robberies in other towns. Police are working with other agencies.
