SOUTHINGTON — Police say a Waterbury man was killed in a single-car crash on Interstate 84 over the weekend.
Robert Signor, 52, of 70 Bank St. in Waterbury, lost control of his vehicle while driving in the area of Exit 32 on Interstate 84 eastbound around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, police said in an accident summary report.
The Subaru Outback he was driving struck a metal beam guide rail and then went over the guide rail and rolled over an undetermined amount of times before striking a tree, police said.
Signor was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the accident information summary.
The vehicle was towed from the scene with heavy damage, police said in the report.
In the accident summary police said it’s not clear why Signor lost control of the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation, and any witness is asked to contact Trooper First Class John Wilson #1060, at Troop H, at (860) 534-1098. Anyone with dash cam video who was driving in the area at the time is also asked to contact Wilson.
