SOUTHINGTON  — The fire marshal is investigating a house fire on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike Tuesday evening. 

The fire at 1261 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike was reported about 8:40 p.m. No injuries were reported. 

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from the house, according to a fire official. 

Health and building officials responded to the scene. The fire department left shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to a fire official.
