Police investigating 3 double shootings in Connecticut

BRIDGEPORT (AP) — Police in Connecticut on Sunday were investigating three separate shootings that each injured two people in Bridgeport, Manchester and New London.

Bridgeport police say a man and a woman were shot around 11:30 p.m. Saturday as they were sitting in a car. The woman was shot multiple times and was in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital, while the man was expected to survive a gunshot wound to his leg and was being treated at the same hospital.

Two other people were found shot in a commuter parking lot in Manchester early Sunday morning, state police said. Both victims were taken to Hartford Hospital. Their conditions haven’t been released.

In New London, police responded to a report of shots fired Sunday morning shortly after midnight and encountered a large group of people at a city street corner. A man with a gunshot wound was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where a second man wounded in the same shooting also was brought. Their conditions also have not been disclosed.

The names of the six victims and details on motives have not been released.
