National Weather Service issues notice of increased fire risk Tuesday

The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from 8 a.m. this morning until 8 p.m. this evening for Connecticut

A red flag warning means weather conditions are conducive to rapid fire spread possible if ignition occurs.

The Tuesday forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-60s with winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and relative humidity as low as 20 percent.

A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect through Wednesday evening. A Fire Weather Watch means critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur, according to the NWS.
