Start of school in Hartford delayed by ransomware virues

HARTFORD (AP) — The start of school in Hartford has been postponed by a ransomware virus striking critical information systems, school district officials announced Tuesday.

The system that communicates school bus routes is among the systems affected by the virus, district officials said.

Tuesday was to have been the first day of school for the district of about 18,000 students. Both in-person and remote learning have been pushed back by the computer virus, officials said. No new start date has been announced.
