Bristol schools placed on lockdown, armed man arrested 

BRISTOL — Schools in the area of West Street and Jacobs Street were placed in lockdown Wednesday after police received a report of a man who had a firearm and made specific threats of violence, police said in a press release.

There were no shots fired and no injuries reported.

The first report came in at around 11:50 a.m. Police found and arrested the suspect at about 1:20 p.m., according to Bristol Police Lt. Craig O’Connor.

Robert Larose, 27, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer, first-degree threatening, illegal possession of an assault weapon and illegal possession of a high capacity magazine. Larose was held on $25,000 bond and is expected to appear in New Britain Superior Court today.
