New library director in Durham

The Durham Public Library Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Christine Michaud as library director. Michaud replaces Cyndi Shirshac, who retired after 19 years at the library.

Michaud has worked at the Durham Public Library since 2012, first as head of children’s services and most recently as the assistant director. 

The new library director and her family have lived in Durham for 20 years. She holds a master’s degree in library science from Southern Connecticut State University and a bachelors in English from Colby College.
