MIDDLEFIELD— Firefighters from Meriden responded to an electrical fire at Powder Ridge Ski Area on Sunday, providing mutual aid to the Middlefield Fire Department.
According to the Middlefield Fire Department, a fire engine and an additional vehicle from Meriden arrived on the scene with in the first 10-15 minutes of the incident.
The Meriden Fire Department confirmed their presence at Powder Ridge the past weekend and informed residents Engine 5 and Car 9 were dispatched to Middlefield.
Middlefield firefighters said the ceiling and attic of a maintenance building caught fire at around 5 a.m., causing minor damage to the structure. They added that no injuries were sustained and no substantial property destruction occurred.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined and is currently under investigation by the Middlefield Fire Marshal.
