Coginchaug Regional High School Class of 2022 valedictorian Gage Rovelli knows a thing or two about time management, and juggling disparate tasks. Aside from excelling in the classroom, he also competed in track and field and soccer at CRHS, and is a talented musician.
“It’s easier to have a plan,” said Rovelli, who is headed to UConn in the fall. “I like keeping myself busy because it’s more fulfilling.”
Over the past few months, the Class of 2022’s top student job shadowed at Medtronic, a medical device company.
Rovelli loves science and math, and down the road may pursue a career in the biomedical field.
He said his ideal job would be designing zoo habitats.
Rovelli graduates CRHS with a 4.7 grade-point-average and plans to major in biomedical engineering at UConn.
But before that, he’ll give a little talk at commencement.
“I hate speeches,” Rovelli said. “I’m not good at talking. I’m more of a math and science guy.”
The salutatorian Coginchaug Regional High School Class of 2022 salutatorian Ava Dell’Orfano sees herself working in the entertainment industry some day.
During her time at CRHS, she was part of every musical ensemble offered, was a member of the Devil’s Advocate Editorial Board and a movie reviewer, and served as producer and director of Devil’s Advocate TV (DATV).
“Sometimes it was a lot during tech night, and at times I was busy every single night and didn’t have time for much,” Dell’Orfano said.
She also served as Secretary General of Coginchaug’s Model UN club, and participated in student council.
Outside of school, Dell’Orfano runs a YouTube channel and podcast with friend and partner Jenna Ulizio.
Dell’Orfano graduates CRHS with a 4.6 grade-point-average. She will attend UConn in the fall and plans to study digital media and design with a concentration in film.
