Clam chowder recipe wins annual ‘Soup-Off’

United Churches of Durham would like to thank Middlefield Federated Church and everyone from the community who participated in Sunday’s “Soup-Off.” Members of both churches prepared soups to be judged in a race for the “Golden Ladle Award.” This year, the honor goes to Anne Malcolm for her clam chowder.

More than 15 soups were prepared for tasting. In addition to soups, guests were treated to various breads, many of which were donated by The Durham Market and Lino’s. Coffee and dessert were also served.

Organized by the Women’s Society for Christian Service and its president, Christy Dlugolenski, the “Soup-Off” is an annual tradition at United Churches.
