WALLINGFORD — A motorist was taken to the hospital for evaluation after experiencing a medical issue and crashing on Route 68 Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred about 1 p.m. near Fairfield Boulevard.

The vehicle was traveling west when it left the road and and crashed in a wooded area, police said.

The driver was taken to MidState Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
