WALLINGFORD — A man was trapped in a Jeep that rolled over in a three-car crash on Interstate 91 on Monday afternoon, firefighters said.
The man was conscious and alert when firefighters used the Jaws of Life cutting tool to free him from the Jeep, Wallingford Fire Battalion Chief Kris Sundwall said.
The man’s name was not released. The crash was reported at about 3 p.m.
Traffic on two lanes of northbound I-91 was shut down for about 45 minutes following the crash, which occurred at Exit 15, Sundwall said.
A Wallingford Fire Department ambulance took the man to Hartford Hospital for treatment, Sundwall said.
