WALLINGFORD — A local man faces charges after police said he was found with a firearm, metal baton, and marijuana during a traffic stop on Monday.
Anthony Damore, 24, of 3 South St., was charged Monday with weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, following too close and traveling unreasonably fast.
A vehicle Danmore was driving was stopped by an officer around 6:15 p.m. in the area of South Colony Road. The officer saw “several indicators of criminal activity” and called for the assistance of police K9 Tate, Sgt. Lou Brangi said in a statement. Officers searched the vehicle found about 10 ounces of marijuana, nine THC cartridges, 2.2 grams of THC wax, a metal baton, a Glock firearm and about $8,500 in cash, Brangi said.
Damore was released on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on March 15.
