WALLINGFORD — A local man faces charges after police said he threw a brick at a car on Center Street Friday night, breaking the windshield.

Will Flores, 28, of 303 Washington St., was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.

Police responded to Center Street and Meadow Street about 7 p.m. for a report of criminal mischief. Officers met with a man who said Flores threw a brick at his car multiple times, breaking the windshield and two other windows on a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta, according to a police report. The owner showed the officer a video he took of the incident, which showed Flores pick up a brick and throw it at the car twice.

Flores was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Monday. According to statements in court, Flores has a criminal history dating back to 2009 with convictions including burglary, larceny and assault on emergency personnel.

Bond was set $10,000 and Flores is due back in court on Sept. 17.
