Wallingford man killed in motorcycle crash

WALLINGFORD — A local man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night on Old Colony Road, police said Monday. 

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. near Oak Street. The driver of a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle, identified as Robert Kelleher, 55, of Wallingford, was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Stephen Jacques said in a press release.  

Kelleher was driving south on Old Colony Road and came upon a slight curve near Oak Street. He drove over the double yellow center lines, across the opposing lane of travel and was ejected from the motorcycle when he struck a metal guardrail, Jacques said.
