Police: North Haven woman charged with DUI after crash in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — A North Haven woman faces a DUI charge after police said she struck another car last week.

Patricia Gilmore, 64, of 14 Collette St., North Haven, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, and following too closely.

The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. on Hall Avenue near Washington Street. Gilmore told police she drank alcoholic beverages before the crash and an open container of alcohol was found inside her vehicle, according to a police report. She did not perform field sobriety tests to standard and was taken into custody.

The occupants of the other vehicle – a pregnant woman and a three-year-old child – were evaluated at the scene but were not taken to a hospital, said police spokesman Lt. Cheryl Bradley.

Gilmore was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Thursday.
