WALLINGFORD — Police released a photo of a suspect in an attempted robbery at a local bank branch on Monday.

Police responded to Bank of America, 938 N. Colony Road, around 10:36 a.m. after a middle-aged man handed a note demanding money to a bank teller, Lt. Michael Colavolpe said in a press release. No weapon was shown.

The suspect left without any money, running toward the Route 68 overpass possibly to a getaway vehicle, Colavolpe said.

The man was wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, winter gloves and glasses. Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or that saw a vehicle parked or waiting on the Route 68 overpass near the bank is asked to contact Detective Houlihan at 203-294-2844.

The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a reward up to $500 for anyone who aides in the arrest of the suspect, Colavolpe said.
