WALLINGFORD — Trinity Health of New England will be opening an urgent care site at 790 N. Colony Road sometime next year.
Trinity Health has locations across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, including hospitals, walk-in clinics, medical offices and specialized facilities, according to its website. Trinity also has an urgent care site in Waterbury.
Mark D’Addabbo, founder and chief executive officer of MACK V Development, LLC, based in West Hartford, owns the property through a holding company. Trinity Health will be a tenant.
D’Addabbo also owns the adjacent building, which is home to Tractor Supply Company, 800 N. Colony Road.
MACK V Development has development projects in Connecticut, Eastern New York, Long Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
The urgent care building will be 3,000 square feet, with a construction cost of $225,000, according to building permits.
“We’re moving and grooving,” D’Addabbo said. “The building is up, the roof is on it.”
D’Addabbo said heating and air conditioning equipment for the building was held up because of supply chain issues. He is hopeful Trinity Health will be open early next year.
“With any luck, they will be open in Q1 of 2023,” D’Addabbo said.
D’Addabbo said this week workers will be pouring the concrete slab for the floors. The doors and windows are expected to arrive the beginning of next month. Once the building is fully closed in, interior work will begin.
D’Addabbo said he hopes the new urgent care site will service a need in the community.
“We’re hoping that we can make it more convenient for people, obviously there is a need or Trinity Health wouldn’t be opening here,” D’Addabbo said. “We feel that it would service a need for customers that may not be feeling so well and don’t need to go to the hospital.”
