WALLINGFORD — Police announced a parking ban on North Main Street to allow safer pedestrian and vehicular movement in front of the Wallingford Public Library.

The police department, in cooperation with the town Engineering and Public Works departments, are evaluating the area for potential additional safety modifications, according to a statement from police.

Vehicles are banned from parking along the eastern curb line of North Main Street between the south side of Curtis Avenue and 187 N. Main St., almost to Academy Street.

The new parking prohibition will be effective and enforceable upon appropriate sign installation and shall supersede any previous regulations concerning parking along this specific section of roadway, the statement said.
