WALLINGFORD — Families gathered in front of Town Hall for Christmas fun during the Seasons of Celebrations event on Saturday afternoon. 

Courtney Sepulveda and her family have traveled from Massachusetts for nine years to attend. She said one of her favorite things is visiting Santa.

“My mom waits in line for us so we can see him,” Sepulveda said. “It’s nice to be able to come back and be able to celebrate.”

Children also had the chance to take photos with Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman while enjoying holiday music and snacks. The “Polar Express” train took families around the event while others made crafts.

The Frosty Parade was scheduled to leave Town Hall at 5 p.m. and travel to Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park for more fun, including caroling.

This year’s Seasons of Celebrations had a Victorian theme. Madison Perrone said it was her first year as a Victorian caroler and she was excited to participate.

“Tonight we’re going to be singing upbeat Christmas songs like Jingle Bell Rock,” the 10-year-old said. “We’re going to be singing songs like Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells.”

Tricia Perrone, her mom, said she was glad to have the event back after it was canceled last year due to the pandemic.

“It’s amazing, it’s wonderful,” she said. “My daughter is a Victorian caroler this year and it’s great to get out and just see everyone and it feels like it is Christmas again.”

The festivities were scheduled to end with Mayor William Dickinson’s reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” and the annual tree lighting.
