WALLINGFORD — Police are investigating after finding a shell casing on Anna Drive on Sunday. Two residents also reported their unlocked cars were entered during the same time frame, police said.

Police responded to Anna Drive on Sunday around 3:33 a.m. for a report of suspicious activity, Lt. Cheryl Bradley said Monday. A resident reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot, Bradley said.

Police found a shell casing in the middle of Anna Drive later in the morning, Bradley noted. Police also had two reports of unlocked vehicles that were entered, she said. Police do not believe any resident confronted the suspects or that the suspects shot at anyone, Bradley said.

Detectives are canvassing the area for video evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wallingford Police at 203-294-2800.
