WALLINGFORD — Town officials have announced that a distribution event for COVID-19 home test kits and N95 masks is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre, 95 S. Turnpike Road.

The entrance will be through the main driveway to the Oakdale on South Turnpike Road. Attendees — who must present identification showing proof of Wallingford residency — will be directed to a queue where members of Wallingford Emergency Management will issue further instructions.

According to a statement from Police Chief John Ventura, there is a very limited supply of both N95 masks and COVID-19 testing kits, and distribution will be prioritized on a first come, first serve basis.

“We ask that individuals do not line up in advance of the times as to not interfere with normal business operations of the Oakdale Theater,” Ventura said in the statement.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many test kits or masks each person or family will be allotted. Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Joe Czentnar said Monday that Wallingford received about 2,800 kits — two tests are in each kit.
