The state Department of Transportation announced several road projects this week, including work on Interstate-91 in Wallingford and North Haven and Route 5 in Meriden.
A bridge maintenance project will continue on I-91 in North Haven and Wallingford through July 17, according to the Department of Transportation.
The work, on both sides of the interstate, started last month.
Asphalt joint repairs are expected to be completed on the I-91 northbound and southound bridges spanning the railroad tracks and Pond Hill Road.
The work is included in the DOT’s 2020 bridge maintenance program. It is being done by Dynamic Surface Applications.
Drivers should expect lane closures on both sides of I-91, between exits 11 (Route 22) and 14 (Woodhouse Avenue). The regular work schedule is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A nighttime milling and resurfacing project is scheduled for Route 5 from the Wallingford town line to East Main Street, according to the DOT.
The road work is expected to begin July 19 and end Aug. 10.
Lane closures are expected on Route 5. The regular work schedule is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
The DOT advises that modifications or extensions to any project’s schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. It asks drivers to maintain a safe speed when driving in the vicinity.
