Hazy and warm start to October



MERIDEN — The first week of October is looking a bit hazy but very warm. Here’s what to expect in the forecast this week according to the National Weather Service.

Temperature trends

For many of the days this week, we will have temperatures in the upper  70s and lower 80s during the day and dropping to the 50s and 60s overnight. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be widespread haze and fog.

Will we get any precipitation?

Friday Night will be mostly cloudy, with a 70% chance of precipitation.

Saturday will be partly sunny, with 60% chance of precipitation during the day.

Will it be windy?

Monday may contain north winds 3 to 7 mph during the day and calm winds during the evening.

Tuesday may contain calm winds becoming southwest around 6 mph during the day as well as calm winds during the evening.

Wednesday may contain calm winds becoming east around 6 mph during the day. 

What should I wear?

Put on your short sleeves, but keep a light jacket or hoodie and umbrella close.

Weekend forecast

At this moment, it looks like a relatively cool and slightly wet weekend with highs in the 60s during the day and dropping to the 40s and 50s at night.
