LETTERS: Meriden parking, Gaining our democracy

Make it work for all

Editor:

The minutes of the March 19th Meriden Transit and Parking Commission meeting included information regarding the process of eliminating downtown parking attendants and that the automation of downtown municipal parking lots will be an app based system requiring smart phones. How will people who don't have smart phones pay for parking? People who can't afford smart phones or boomers like me who prefer flip top phones are going to be marginalized out of accessing parking downtown. That certainly appears to be the situation to me and I do not think this automated municipal parking limited to iphones is sufficient in meeting the needs of the community. Luckily, the changes have not been implemented yet so perhaps there is hope that people without smart phones will be able to access and pay for downtown municipal parking.

Gaining our democracy

In response to Sylvia Dighello’s letter to the editor: Does she realize that Trump almost pulled off a coup (third world)! He tweeted and tweeted and tweeted, all nonsense!

It’s nice waking up and not worrying the world’s coming to an end. He separated the country into red and blue! In the Republican world no one has the nerve to tell him HE LOST!

Mitch McConnell is the biggest hypocrite in government. Giuliani, Cruz, Santos all have no pride. How did they get into office?

Trump was out playing golf when thousands of people were dying! He wanted to be the dictator. Biden is doing quite well, at least with the Covid. An insurrection is a strike against Democracy! You cannot spell Fox without Fake and Hoax, Get Real!!
