That Hubbard Park book
Just finished reading the well written history or our beautiful Hubbard Park, written by Justin Piccirillo. I would like this book to be available at the Meriden Public Library and also at the middle and high school libraries. Everybody that reads this book will see what a “visionary” Mr. Hubbard was, and what great gift he gave to the city of Meriden in 1900.
John P. Zajac, MeridenWho told the big lie?
I read, with interest, another column from Lou Arata. He wants to leave the impression that it’s only Democrats who seek to gain and maintain power, as if conservatives are above all that. That it’s Democrats who employ propaganda and Republicans would never stoop so low. That it’s liberals who try to “cancel” others for their speech. Who exactly was attacking the First Amendment, our free press for four years? Who was it that stormed our Capitol, in their attempt to cancel the election? Who is spreading the propaganda of the big lie, a stolen election? Who, on a nightly basis, is spreading false stories without regard to the damage it’s doing to our country? If local politicians want to continue to lose elections, time after time, keep on insulting the intelligence of the people you wish to represent.
