Editor:
At the beginning of January, I was sworn in to the Board of Education, and we are now at the conclusion of the first of two years in my term. As I look back over the past year, I am incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to serve our school district.
My top priority has always been, and will always continue to be, serving the best interest of our students. Over the past year, we have seen a lot of change as we come out of the pandemic and students get to have more of a normal classroom experience. I am very grateful for the wonderful community of teachers, parents, and administrators who work tirelessly to serve our students.
There have been times that being on the Board of Education is exhausting, such as when meetings go past 10 p.m. or when we have several consecutive nights with school district functions, but I am tremendously honored to have this opportunity to serve our students. All those hours of work become well worth it when I get to see our school district in action, such as by attending a high school play, going to PTAC’s Parent Choice Awards, reading to an elementary school class, or attending a National Honor Society induction.
In the spirit of the holiday season, I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Wallingford community for giving me this opportunity to serve.
Wallingford is my lifelong home, and I am truly honored to have an opportunity to serve this wonderful community. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas with friends and family.
