Last May and June the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation repaved approximately one and a half miles of I-691 from Exit 4 on the Southington line easterly into Meriden. No more than two weeks after the pavement was completed, they immediately started cutting it up approximately every 25 feet and making 10 -foot by 12-foot concrete patches. This has made the highway very loud and very bumpy. They are now in the process of doing the same thing further down the highway just past the Chamberlain Highway. Could you please find out from the Department of Transportation, why they would do a beautiful job paving the highway and then immediately start patching it, instead of doing the patching first and then repaving over the patching giving the taxpayers a nice smooth highway to travel over?
