LETTERS: Two letters about the election, one about the nation

Two strong women

Editor:

I write today as a woman myself, and a mom of a little girl, knowing so much is on the ballot for women’s rights this election. I will be voting for two strong women who are advocates of women’s rights, and who are also incredible role models for my daughter.

Meriden is lucky to have Representative Hilda Santiago working for us in Hartford, and Jan Hochadel will be a great addition to that team in the Senate! Please join me in making sure women’s voices are heard and women’s rights are protected this November!

Helps small businesses

Editor:

Lou Arata understands business. He effectively helps small businesses and will fight for them to prosper in CT. To do this, Hartford needs to change and Lou Arata can do that. Lou Arata understands why small businesses can not grow in CT and that is because of excessive regulation and we need more of the free enterprise system. Tell small businesses that you care for them and vote for Lou Arata. Learn more about Lou at his website, www.LouArata.com.

Elect Fishbein, Birney

Editor:

Send Representative Craig Fishbein to Hartford for another term and elect Patrick Birney as our next probate judge for Wallingford!

Patrick has the know-how and will make an excellent replacement for Phil Wright! Craig always takes care of business and has always come up with a answer when I talked with him! I can’t think of better and more knowledgeable people, and encourage the voters of Wallingford to cast their ballots for Patrick and Craig November 8th !

In decline

Editor:

Well made it to eighty-one. This is the worse economy in my lifetime. America has to wake up. Inflation affecting fuel, food, energy, healthcare and I could go on and on. Government spending out of control. Canceling college loans is a disaster in the making. All we’re doing is transferring individual debt to hard working taxpayers. Crime and drug use rising to unprecedented levels. Unsupervised immigration and open borders. You need a passport to enter Canada.

There are too many government programs fueling pro-lazy individuals. Why should I have to support people who cannot afford to live here? Don’t be fooled by promises to take care of you from cradle to grave.

When somebody gives you free stuff you have lost your freedom. They control your life. I am warning you this is America in decline.

Quotes from my memory!

I’m from the government and I’m here to help. — Ronald Reagan, 1986

Ask not what the country can do for you but what you can do for your country. — JFK, 1961

Do a good deed every day. — SGS, 2022

I stand for the flag, kneel for the cross. Live free or die.

S.C. Staszewski, Meriden
