FRIDAY LACROSSE: Cheshire shuts the door on Lauralton Hall; LH, Sheehan girls also notch SCC wins



CHESHIRE — Alex Lucas and Taylor Warburton scored four goals apiece Friday night to propel the Cheshire girls lacrosse team to a 13-4 SCC victory over Lauralton Hall at Alumni Field.

Ava Harris added a pair of goals and assists as Cheshire improved to 2-0. Lucas added an assist to make it a five-point night.

Sophia Surato and Hailey Beling potted their first varsity goals. Lauren Samela scored on goal and set up another. Hannah Merritt chipped in with an assist.

In goal, Audrey Bronson recorded two saves to hand Lauralton Hall (2-1) its first loss.

Sheehan 15, Hamden 7: The Titans returned home from Hamden at 3-1 with the SCC victory over the Green Dragons.

Lyman Hall 8, West Haven 3: The Trojans outscored the Blue Devils 5-0 in the second half at Fitzgerald Field. With the SCC win, LH improved to 2-1.

Boys lacrosse

Southington 16, South Windsor 0: The Blue Knights blanked the Bobcats on Thursday night in South Windsor to earn their first win of the season.

Tony Carrado scored four goals and Jack Tedone and Rory Missal added three apiece to pace Southington (1-2).

Tedone has scored three goals in each of the first three games for a total of nine. Missal has six goals on the year. Goalie Matt Rodrigues has a combined 30 saves in the cage.

Lyman Hall 20, Wilbur Cross 2: The Trojans improved to 2-1 with Thursday night’s SCC victory over the Governors in Wallingford.
