The area Central Connecticut Conference volleyball teams weren’t messing around Monday night.
Platt, Maloney and Southington all won divisional matches via the sweep. The Panthers pounded Middletown, the Spartans stifled Lewis Mills and the Blue Knights KO’d Simsbury.
Platt remained unbeaten with its victory. The Panthers are now 5-0. Maloney is 3-1, Southington 4-1.
Platt got 14 kills from Eva Dudley and 11 digs from Isabella DeMatteo in rolling 25-5, 25-10, 25-11 in Middletown. DeMatteo also landed five aces. Dudley planted two.
Setter Emily Hart chalked up 20 assists, five aces and three kills.
In Maloney’s match in Burlington, Peyton Pulaski had a night with 16 kills and six aces. Kendall Ferreria added nine kills and six aces as the Spartans won by game scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-14.
Lacie Cox collected five kills and three aces behind the setting of Rachael Case (27 assists, 3 aces). Nadia Berrios was a presence at the net with five blocks.
As for the Blue Knights, they won 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 in Southington. Haley Weiner spread out her 30 assists, with Cami Wessels putting down nine kills and Alyssa Ferreira and Gabby Ferreira getting eight apiece.
Wessels also served four aces. Emma Pfanzelt led the D with 10 digs.
Field hockey Southington 4, E.O. Smith 0: The Lady Knights forged a 2-0 lead in the second quarter, then doubled it in the third to blank the Panthers in this CCC matchup in Southington.
Lilli Doran, Makayla Winegar, Nikki DePodesta and Ella Huard found the back of the cage for SHS. At the other end, Morgan Lasek secured five saves.
Southington improved to 2-0-0-1 and kept E.O. Smith winless at 0-5.
Amity 2, Sheehan 0: A pair of goals by Riley Zielenski — one in the first quarter and the other in the third — carried the Spartans to the SCC victory in Wallingford.
Bean Rizzuti and Carly Silbert had the assists, while Amity goalie Erin Callahan posted six saves in net.
Rilee Reutenauer had 17 saves for Sheehan.
The loss was the first of the season for the Titans (3-1). Amity improved to 4-1.
Boys soccer Southington 4, Platt 0: The Blue Knights scored a pair of goals in each half to notch the CCC crossover win in Meriden.
Dylan Farr, Alex Longo, Tommy Bissoni and Damir Cirikovic had the goals for Southington.
Farr’s goal was a 25-yard laser in the wake of a corner kick. Longo was at the back post to volley home a feed from Evan Jekubovich.
Platt started the second half strong and kept the Blue Knights in check unitl, with 20 minutes left, Noah Panarella played a through ball to Tommy Bissoni, who ran in behind his defender and finished with a shot that bounced in off the Platt goalkeeper’s leg.
Cirikovic capped the scoring off a direct kick from outside the box.
Dalton Messina recorded a two-save shutout for SHS (2-2). Gabe Dushi posted eight stops for Platt (1-3).
